Mela's Filipino American smokehouse is a chinese bbq in Pinckney, Michigan. It is listed at 5589 M-36, Pinckney, MI 48169, which places it among the local businesses of Pinckney that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Pinckney; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Michigan are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–8 pm. It is closed on Monday. If I had one word to describe the food, it would be: honest. The Litwong Kawali (fried pork belly) was perfectly cooked along with a side of white rice; definitely opt for the garlic rice. The pork Lumpia (spring roll) which I ordered was perfectly fried and stayed true to its great flavor. I look forward to coming back and trying a different dish to experience what I know will be great. My only regret, is not getting the owners name to shout them out and many thanks to the chef! Keep it up because this is a place people should experience.

I was surprised they opened a Filipino restaurant in this area because there aren't many filipinos here. Had a conversation with Mela and she is very nice and knowledgeable. I tried their filipino foods and its definitely authentic and cooked right, their place also reminds me of the 'karinderyas' in the philippines where they sell home-cooked meals. I haven't tried their American BBQ but i would definitely recommend the filipino foods. I will continue coming here as long as the taste and quality stay consistent. Thanks tita mela!

Food was amazing. Lechon, skewers, and pancit were the stars for me. They were so friendly and even shared samples with us of some dishes we were curious about but hadn’t ordered. Well worth the price too!
